Strawberry Chia Fluff on The Balanced Platter

Happy Fourth of July to all my US-based readers, friends and family! I hope everyone is having a great day. 🙂

I had intended to post my yummy “Toronto Sandwich” today, but the computer gods had other ideas. . . . and crashed my computer.  Poof! –Gone. (Sorry if I shattered your eardrums with my screeching.)  Instead of writing my blog post, I spent the day at the Computer Guru’s office pleading with him and praying he could salvage something (anything!) from the old machine. Then, I bought a new one. Hopefully it will be set up and running by Friday.

In the meantime, I realized I hadn’t yet shared my post over at The Balanced Platter this week, for Strawberry Chia Fluff (plus some cool summer entertaining ideas).  It may be a little tardy for your 4th of July celebrations, but this light and refreshing dessert is perfect any time throughout the summer!

Until next time, keep your fingers crossed for me. . .  hope to get that new computer up and running pronto!

Hugs–

Ricki

Thanks, JL. Particularly frustrating when you are a total techno-luddite. Ah, well, hopefully all will be restored by tonight (I’m on a loaner right now!).

Thanks, Johanna! Of course I haven’t backed up quite as much as I should have, but I’ll likely lose maybe a week or two of stuff. Keeping fingers crossed.

I’m down in Virginia, and I thought I heard a banshee-like screeching coming from the north…you, perhaps? 🙂

Yep, that was probably me. And then Chaser, reacting to. . . me. 😉

Oh, Ricki, I am so sorry! I hate computers! I wish I could understand them better, but I don’t, and I get incredibly frustrated very very easily. They should just work and never break or crash 🙂

Thanks, Courtney. I think I hate them, too, most of the time. . . but unfortunately, can’t live without ’em these days. I agree totally–they should just do what we want and never break down! 😉

  • Oooo, nasty, bad computer! Are there any other kind? So sorry for your miseries, I hope your data can be recovered. Don runs full backups for both of us every week ‘just in case’. The crash obviously did not impact your creativity in the least – that is a super-beautiful strawberry dessert.

Thanks so much, Gretchen. I actually made the dessert before the crash (since I had to submit my Balanced Platter article last week). 😉 But I couldn’t agree more–computers are some kinda nasty stuff.

  • Fingers and toes crossed! I remember going into a weird almost catatonic state when my old laptop died a month before my 30,000 word Honours thesis was due. I will always be grateful for my dad, the software engineer, for pulling out the physical hard-drive and somehow managing to salvage my work by crazing engineering with his own computer!

Who knew “fluff” could be so delicious? And so pretty. But indeed, indeed.

I know the feeling. My crazy engineer-like hubby didn’t even dare to go near mine.. . the Computer Guru I hired will, hopefully, salvage something. Still waiting with bated breath. . . it’s agony!!! 😉
