Do you have a blog linky event or giveaway you’d like me to mention? I also will occasionally mention new courses that bloggers offer their readers. Send me an email with the details to dietdessertdogsATgmailDOTcom and I’ll include three or four each week. Please note that I cannot always accommodate all requests.

PLEASE DO NOT ADD YOUR GIVEAWAYS OR CONTESTS TO THE LINKYS BELOW–THEY ARE FOR RECIPES ONLY.

This Week’s Picks:

This week’s picks all focus on the theme “sauces.”

Mushroom Marinara with Fresh Herbs from Lisa’s Kitchen. Makes me wish I could still eat mushrooms. . .at least I can have the sauce! Yum.

Thanks for joining in and sharing all your healthy, sugar-free and vegan recipes. I love seeing what you whip up each week! And I hope you’ll also share on twitter, Facebook and Pinterest, too! Wellness Weekend even has its own Pinterest board so you can keep track of each week’s links. Check it out right here.

Here’s How to Participate:

The event occurs once a week, starting Thursdays at 8:00 PM my time and running until the following Monday at midnight.

  1. Simply link up a vegan recipe you made (and posted about) that contains health-supporting ingredients. This means any good-for-you whole foods, especially those with antioxidant properties or “functional foods” (ie, offering naturally medicinal or health-promoting qualities–such as garlic, coconut oil, all vegetables, fruits, herbs, etc.)–but any fresh, real food is welcome! No-no’s include white flour or sugar, highly processed foods, or animal products. Definite no-no’s include: cane sugar (evaporated or otherwise), sweeteners ending in -itol, margarines, or faux meat products.Items like vegan protein powder, grain or bean flours, or coconut milk are fine even though they are technically “processed,” since they either contain a single ingredient, or could technically be made at home. Also, please note that this is a vegan recipe event. A minor ingredient with a vegan option is fine, but if the main ingredient is intended to be meat or other animal product, your recipe likely belongs in a different link up event.
  2. This is a recipe event. Your blog post must contain a recipe.
  3. You may link up older posts from your archives as long as they contain a link to this post. Please do not link up any posts you have previously shared at an earlier Wellness Weekend event.
  4. Please link the post with your recipe, NOT your blog’s home page or another event page.
  5. You may submit up to three recipes, but please follow the guidelines for each one individually. ONLY ONE THUMBNAIL FROM EACH BLOG POST, PLEASE. If your post contains two suitable recipes, link up once and people will still see all your fabulous recipes when they click on the linky. ๐Ÿ™‚
  6. Please mention this event and include a link back to this post so that others can find all the recipes posted!
  7. Feel free to use the blog badge, above (or see the left sidebar of this page–if you need the html code, let me know and I’ll send it to you). Many thanks to Adrienne of Whole New Mom for setting up the badge code for me!

PLEASE NOTE: In order to promote your posts and the event, I like to occasionally tweet, mention on Facebook, or pin your blog post(s). On occasion, I will repost your photos in the following week’s Wellness Weekend as well. If you prefer that I NOT use your photos or links, please let me know in the comments below, or send an email to me at dietdessertdogsATgmailDOTcom. Thanks!

I will reluctantly remove any links that don’t comply. I apologize, but I will no longer be able to leave a comment telling you that I’ve removed a non-compliant link. I hate to have to remove links! PLEASE READ THE GUIDELINES BEFORE POSTING!

And now. . . what have you been cooking up lately? Please share!

  • Hello Ricki,
which of the His & Her’s Pizza is yours then – left or right?

They both look very moreish with the greens pesto and the crisp pizza base – yum! You give me hope, that I can have a “joined” pizza night with my partner one day (without enviously staring at his decadently unhealthy pizza!).

This week I’m sharing my Classic Pancakes recipe (dairy free, sugar free, low in gluten and with an egg free/ vegan option).

I know you’re not a fan of Spelt anymore ๐Ÿ˜‰ but I’m hoping I can tempt you to try it with your gluten free flours mix.

Enjoy the rest of the 4th July Festivities wkend.

    Hi Sandra,

Did you guess? I’m on the right with the cashew goat cheese (his has grated something or other–can’t remember!). And as you can see, I’m the jalapeno fiend in the family. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thanks for sharing! I do love pancakes, so who knows, may just have to revamp with GF flours! ๐Ÿ™‚

    Sandra Reply:

Hah, my guess would have been the right one of course, since that is the smaller piece and more detailed decoration… ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’ve had jalapenos on a baked baguette before, and that was lovely – but not yet on a pizza (pretty similar territory though, really I guess…) Cashew goat cheese sounds marvelous – yet another new veganicious treat to try, yum!

Good guess! ๐Ÿ™‚ The goat cheese IS marvelous! Same as the one here. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Hi there! Happy 4th of July, y’all. ๐Ÿ˜€

I’m sharing a sweet, vegan & gluten-free dessert – 4th of July Popsicles. First layer is strawberries with balsamic vinegar & black pepper, then non-dairy milk & honey, and then blueberries & cardamom. Yum!

For Instagram, you can totally see pics from any Android device (though I’m not sure about Windows phones). So almost all people with a smartphone can see your IG pics!

P.S. Liked your new page! ๐Ÿ™‚

Hey Ricki! Just wanted to let you know–your link to your article on Fitalicious.com actually takes you to a giveaway for coconut oil. I think the links got messed up! I wanted to read your take on the whole grain free thing, so I am going to fitalicious.com to find it, but wanted to let you know about the links ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Instagram is a website so you can see it from any browser as far as I know – I can see it from firefox – don’t really look at this stuff on my phone but occasionally I will follow a link from your blog – try it on your computer (unless you now only use your phone ha ha) But I do like your little montage of pics – would be quite happy to see them on your blog esp as I really like reading your newsy tidbits on wellness weekends and they would go well in that section

Thank you, Johanna! I did try to look at Instagram when not logged in (ie as someone just browsing the Internet) and it wouldn’t let me on!! Maybe that’s just me (and NO, I most definitely am NOT always on the phone–in fact, I try to be off it as much as possible!!). But glad you liked the little montage. ๐Ÿ˜‰

    Johanna GGG Reply:

That is weird I just click through your link to your instagram account and see your pics and have done that with other people’s instagram accounts – which is nice for me to see the photos without a phone or I never would see them
